 In the first game of women's section to finish, we saw the former World champion, the Ambassodor of the SportAccord World Mind Games, GM Alexandra Kostenuik defeat IM Anna Zatonskih from the United States, in a very sharp style. She attaked trhoughout the whole game and finished it in a brilliant way.
The two Chinese girls won their respective games giving a great start to the host country. The World champion GM Hou Yifan crushed Viktoriya Cmilyte from Lithuania and WGM Ju Wenjun was able to beat Monica Socko from Poland in her favorite King's Indian.
Top seed GM Kateryna Lahno from Ukraine lost to GM Pia Cramling from Sweden in a quite complicated fight, while IM Elisabeth Paehtz knocked Harika Dronavili from India down. GM Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia, defeated Almira Skripchenko with the black pieces.
There were no boring games at all!
